MEET YOUR TEACHERS

MICHAEL & COURTNEY

Michael and Courtney began their Urbankiz teaching partnership in January 2023 after receiving their certification from Curtis Seldon. Together, they launched Urbankiz Evolution with the mission to expand and elevate the Urbankiz scene across the UK.

Their journey has taken them from teaching classes and workshops across the UK and internationally to establishing weekly Urbankiz sessions in Brighton and Southampton in partnership with Baila en Sussex and Elite Tiempo. In 2023, they also launched the UK’s first Urbankiz couples performance team in Brighton, showcasing their commitment to growing the dance community.

Join them every Monday at our studio to experience their passion and energy for Urbankiz, as they continue to build an inclusive and vibrant dance family.

Urban Kiz Classes Bournemouth

What to expect – Each Urban Kiz class spans 1 hour, led by two seasoned instructors who elucidate the steps and body dynamics for both leaders and followers. Every session is crafted to bolster your confidence and comprehension of the techniques vital for dancing Urban Kiz at social gatherings. Bringing a partner is optional, as we regularly rotate pairs, allowing you to mingle and dance with all attendees. Following your Urban Kiz session, we recap the moves and timing, providing a chance to record the routine should you wish to revisit it later.

Beginner Urban Kiz Classes

The Beginners level is tailored for students entirely new to Urban Kiz, as well as those refining their fundamentals. In each Beginner Urban Kiz class, we focus on essential steps and techniques for leading and following, woven into an engaging routine ready for the social dance floor right away.

Improver Urban Kiz Classes

The Improvers level is designed for students who are confident with the basics and eager to broaden their understanding of how to link moves into sequences. It emphasizes mastering the art of leading and following through more intricate Urban Kiz partner work routines.

Intermediate Urban Kiz Classes

The Intermediate level caters to students poised to progress after mastering the principles from both the Beginner and Improver classes. This stage introduces demanding and intricate Urban Kiz sequences and move combinations, with a special emphasis on styling for both men and women.
